KS3

Elizabeth Woodville School provides a broad and balanced curriculum for all its students through a three year Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 & 9) and two year Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11) provision.

Key Stage 3 Curriculum

In line with many schools across the country, as an academy, we do not have to follow the national curriculum; however, in order to build on the work students have completed in Key Stage 2 and to prepare for Key Stage 4 (GCSE and Vocational) courses we use the national framework as our starting point in planning schemes of work and programmes of study.

We have a broad Key Stage 3 curriculum. All students study Modern Foreign Languages (French & Spanish) in Years 7, 8 & 9. Students currently study Design & Technology, Food and Art on a rotation, Music, Drama, Religious Studies, Personal Social Health & Careers Education (PSHCE) and Physical Education.

PSHCE is delivered within morning tutor time, assemblies and during a weekly PSHCE lesson.

Students also enjoy a varied and challenging PE programme each week, to build up their personal fitness and to develop vital life skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, resilience etc.

At Elizabeth Woodville School we follow a two week timetable of 25 lessons per week, 50 per fortnight; in the following subject areas.
