Making the most of the induction days
The purpose of the induction event is to allow you the opportunity to get a feel of what it is like to study in the Sixth Form here at EWS. You are now embarking on a very exciting phase of your education and we wish you every success.
Make the most of this opportunity, get involved, find out about your chosen subjects and what it is like to study at EWS.

Transition homework
To prepare you for your studies in the Sixth Form each subject has set a number of tasks for you to complete. Please complete the tasks set for each of your chosen subjects.
The purpose of this work is to give you an insight into the subject that you intend to study. The aim of these tasks to interest you, to motivate you to inspire you to find out more about your chosen subjects.

Tudors: 1.Watch the documentary on the Wars of the Roses and make notes on the historian. What does she say is fact, what is made up to suit the needs of Henry. Why would he do this? 2.Research Henry Tudor. Create a factfile for Henry Tudor before he becomes King of England. Who were his parents? Where was he brought up? How did he come to be at the Battle of Bosworth? 3.Essay: How did Henry Tudor win the Battle of Bosworth? Avoid writing a story about what happened at the battle. Instead create an argument. You need three main paragraphs, each starting with a reason for Henry’s victory, then using facts and explanation to backup your points. Your conclusion should summarise your points and explain the reason you think is the most important.
