On Monday 26th June, a group of Year students visited Sky Academy’s Skills Studio in London. During the day students took a tour around Sky’s Headquarters and TV Studios, heard about career opportunities within Sky and produced a news reports using Sky’s world class facilities.
Ross Fairley, Year 12 wrote the following: “Our visit to the Sky Academy was a fulfilling trip full of opportunities for all people who went. Learning about the fascinating sets and equipment used was an interesting experience, and seeing how programmes go from filming to being broadcast was an eye opening part of the day. The tour gave us an insight into how sky creates its award winning television, and the engaging staff were happy to help with any questions we had. Making our own new broadcast in our 4 sub teams gave us the chance to express our individual identity while working as part of a team. It also gave us the chance to discover skills we never knew we had.”
Sam Squire: “It was a good opportunity to see Sky Studios”
Ali Durante: “I really enjoyed the day”
Benedict Fenton: “The camera equipment surprised me because it was the best I had ever seen”
